MMA – BRAVE Combat Federation (BRAVE CF) has officially confirmed a thrilling light heavyweight clash between Bulgarian standout Kaloyan Kolev and Slovenia’s Nemanja ‘Sledgehammer’ Kovac as the main event of BRAVE CF 107, set to take place on August 1 at the Burgas Arena in Bulgaria, in partnership with Bulgarian Fight Agency.
“I have been waiting for this moment ever since my debut,” said Kolev. “Getting my second fight in BRAVE CF and doing it as the main event in front of my hometown crowd is something truly special.
“I am grateful for the opportunity and ready to show everyone what I am capable of on August 1.”
Kovac stated: “It feels great to be back in BRAVE CF after such a long time. This is exactly the kind of challenge I wanted. Fighting a hometown hero in a main event atmosphere motivates me even more.
“I am coming to Bulgaria to make a statement and prove that I belong among the best in the division.”
Carrying a professional record of 13-1-1, Kolev has established himself as one of Bulgaria’s most dangerous mixed martial artists. Nine of his victories have come by knockout, while two others ended by submission.
The 33-year-old hard-hitter made his promotional debut at BRAVE CF 97 in July of 2025, where he went the distance with Mohamed ‘L’Ambiance’ Said Maalem in a fiercely contested battle that concluded in a majority draw.
Since then, Kolev has remained focused on securing a defining victory that could propel him toward a rematch with Said Maalem, who recently captured the BRAVE CF light heavyweight world title after dethroning Erko ‘The Bounty Hunter’ Jun at BRAVE CF 106 earlier this month.
Standing across from him will be Kovac, a battle-tested veteran who owns an experienced record of 14-6. Nine of his career wins have come via knockout, underscoring the devastating striking arsenal he brings into every contest.
The Slovenian previously competed twice under the BRAVE CF banner in 2021 and now returns determined to score his first victory under the promotion’s banner.
Confidence is at an all-time high for Kovac after he marked his comeback to active competition with a triumph outside of BRAVE CF.
After a four-year hiatus from the sport, he returned in impressive fashion by earning a unanimous decision victory over Brazilian MMA legend Fabio Maldonado in August of last year.
With both athletes possessing proven finishing instincts and a reputation for delivering action-packed performances, fans can expect an unforgettable headliner when BRAVE CF returns to Bulgaria.
