ENDURANCE HORSERACING - His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman, and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa witnessed yesterday the veterinary examination for the Samorin International Endurance Race in Slovakia.
Shaikh Nasser followed up on the progress of the exam and the readiness procedures for the team’s competing horses.
Shaikh Nasser will participate in the meeting’s 160km ride, while Shaikha Shaima bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa will take part in the 100km International race, Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa will participate in the 120km International race for the general public, and Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa will participate in the 120km International race for the junior and youth category.
Shaikh Nasser led the final training session for the Royal Endurance Team yesterday.
He affirmed that their participation in Samorin represents an important milestone in their preparation programme for the upcoming stages, noting that European participations provide riders and horses with an opportunity to gain experience and compete at the highest levels.
Shaikh Nasser added that the Royal Endurance Team continues to implement their preparatory plans for the riders according to a well-thought-out programme that focuses on achieving the best levels of readiness and meeting the qualification requirements for the world junior and youth championship, scheduled to be held in Samorin next year.
It will be an opportunity to get acquainted with the terrain of Samorin’s village tracks, which hosted the world championship for adults in 2016.
He wished success to all the team’s riders participating in the various categories in presenting distinguished levels that reflect the prestigious position of Bahraini endurance sport on the international scene.
