A Bahraini woman in her twenties was killed and several members of her family were injured after the bus carrying them overturned in Saudi Arabia while they were travelling from Mecca to Medina following the performance of Umrah.
According to a relative and the cousin of the deceased, Hassan Al Daqqaq, the bus was carrying 18 members of the same Bahraini family when the accident occurred.
He told the GDN from Medina that the crash claimed the life of one female family member, Zahraa Abdulkarim Hassan, while a number of passengers suffered injuries of varying severity and were transferred to King Fahd Hospital in Medina for treatment.
Mr Al Daqqaq said medical teams were closely monitoring the injured, adding that two family members remained in critical condition.
