Two Egyptian football supporters have died after suffering medical emergencies while watching Egypt’s dramatic 3-2 defeat to Argentina in the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup. The tragic incidents, reported in the Sharqia and Alexandria governorates, occurred during the tense match that sealed the Pharaohs' exit from the tournament.
According to local reports, Salah Abdel Hamid Al Haddad collapsed while watching the game with other supporters in Sharqia. Witnesses said bystanders rushed to his aid before he was taken to Al Sufiya Central Hospital, where doctors were unable to save his life. He had reportedly suffered a heart attack.
The second tragedy occurred in Alexandria, where another supporter, identified as Ibrahim M, suffered a sudden medical emergency while watching the match at a café. Emergency services were called to the scene after police received reports of a man collapsing inside the establishment. Authorities later confirmed the supporter had passed away after falling ill during the game.
