BASKETBALL – Alba’s women’s 3x3 basketball team of Aya Kamali, Marian Samir Owais, Shirin Madwar, and Mariam Jawad were crowned champions of the second round in the Bahrain Summer Tour 2026 women’s tournament, played over the weekend at Sports City 26 in Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB).
Alba secured the title after defeating Askar 19-13 in the competition’s final.
Askar were represented in the event by Amina Hani, Shaikha Hani, Ninel, and Jamya.

At the end of the action, Alba’s women were presented their awards by Bahrain Basketball Association competitions committee members Ahmed Elyas and Samana Haidari.
With their result, Alba maintained their winning run in the series after having also emerged victorious in the tour’s opening stop, held the weekend prior at EWB. Both women’s competitions were held alongside the men’s events.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Alba punched their ticket to the title-deciding clash with an 18-11 win over Al Najma. Askar, on the other hand, routed Fireballs 21-4.
In the quarters, Najma beat Alba B 21-8 while Askar edged past Hawar 11-9 to advance.
The women’s tournament featured 10 teams who were divided into three groups for the preliminary stage.
Alba topped Pool A, where they claimed a 21-7 win over Paramedics before also beating Askar 22-17. Askar defeated Paramedics 21-1 in the other game.
Fireballs took first place in a tight Pool B with an 8-7 win over OLE and a 9-8 triumph over Alba B, who claimed a 12-6 victory against OLE.
In the four-team Pool C, Hawar claimed first place with three successive wins – first an 18-1 thrashing of Triple Trouble, then a 22-11 victory over Tera before completing the round with a 14-8 triumph against Najma.
Najma were second in the group standings with an 8-6 win against Tera before beating Triple Trouble 15-3.
In another fixture, Tera eked past Triple Trouble 12-11.
