An interactive education programme is set to take place over the coming weeks at the Art Centre near the Bahrain National Museum, as part of the ongoing ‘Almasyaf’ Summer Art Show.
The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca), in collaboration with the Bahrain Arts Society, announced the launch of the art education programme, running throughout August and early September.
Alongside the first edition of the ‘Almasyaf’ (Arabic: summer destination) Summer Art Show, the programme will feature specialised art workshops and guided tours designed to ‘broaden creative horizons, foster a supportive environment for emerging talent, and equip aspiring artists and enthusiasts with the artistic skills needed to develop their creative practice’, Baca stated.
The programme begins with a workshop led by artist Sayed Hasan Alsari, taking place over three days starting on Monday from 5pm to 7pm.
This will be followed by ‘The Art of Sculpture Making’, presented by artist Ahmed Anan, over three days from August 16, from 4pm to 7pm.
Artist Thuraya Amin will present ‘3D Textured Art’ on August 22 from 10am to 1pm.
On August 19, from 10am to 2pm, artist Shaima Haji will lead a workshop introducing participants to rug making using the tufting technique.
The programme will conclude with ‘The Art of Ebru’ (water marbling), presented by artist Yousif Alaradi, on September 5, from 10am to 1pm.
Baca noted that the programme is part of its ongoing efforts to invest in creative talent and strengthen partnerships among artistic institutions, contributing to the continued growth of Bahrain’s cultural and artistic landscape while reinforcing the cultural and creative industries as a pillar of sustainable development.
