BASKETBALL – Bahrain’s under-23 3x3 basketball national teams welcomed Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) president Eng Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa to practice as they continued their preparations for the Asia West/Pacific stops of the Fiba 3x3 Youth Nations League 2026.
The competitions are to be held in Singapore from August 20 to 26, and the Bahrainis have been training locally under the supervision of coaches Murtadha Mohammed and Bogdan Dragovic.
Shaikh Mohammed was accompanied in his visit by other BBA officials as they met with the national teams’ players as well as technical and administrative staff.
They expressed their full support for the squads and wished them success in Singapore.
Bahrain are currently one of six nations taking part in both the men’s and women’s competitions in the Asia West/Pacific events of this year’s Fiba 3x3 Youth Nations League.
The others are Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, Australia, and the host Singaporeans.
The tournaments also act as qualification for the Fiba 3x3 U23 World Cup, which is to be held in Hubei, China, from September 15 to 19.
Also as part of their final lead-up to Singapore, Bahrain’s teams will be playing today and tomorrow in the final rounds of the men’s and women’s events in the Bahrain Summer Tour 2026.
