The Akhbar Al Khaleej hosted a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), commemorating a quarter-century of humanitarian and national service and the foundation’s initiatives and achievements in promoting the values of giving, solidarity and community service.
The ceremony featured the opening of the ‘Memory of a Humanitarian Legacy’ exhibition, sponsored by the Adel Fakhro and Mona Almoayyed Charitable Foundation.
Organised by the Akhbar Al Khaleej, the exhibition documents key milestones in the foundation’s journey since its establishment in 2001 through photographs, documents and archival materials showcasing its initiatives, projects and activities over the past 25 years.
The event was attended by Editor-in-Chief Anwar Abdulrahman, general manager Abdulmajeed Haji, RHF acting secretary-general Ibrahim Al Doseri, and RHF board of trustees vice chairman Shaikh Adnan Al Qattan.
The exhibition included rare archival materials being displayed publicly for the first time, as well as documentation of His Majesty King Hamad’s paternal statement at the foundation’s launch: “It is my honour to be a father to everyone,” reflecting the humanitarian vision upon which the foundation was established.
Mr Abdulrahman said the 25th anniversary of the RHF represents an important national and humanitarian occasion worthy of celebration and reflection on a journey rich in giving and achievement.
He said the exhibition provides a visual account of key milestones in the foundation’s history, while the materials on display represent a living record of its long-standing humanitarian work.
In an interview with the Akhbar Al Khaleej, Mr Al Doseri said the foundation’s services have benefited 32,492 orphans and widows.
Humanitarian assistance provided to Bahraini citizens has exceeded 75,000 cases, including more than 12,000 medical assistance cases, 33,000 living-expense assistance cases and 20,000 marriage assistance cases.
The foundation has also organised 13 mass wedding ceremonies, benefiting 11,746 young men and women, while its projects have extended to 18 countries through 49 projects and 33 relief shipments.
