HORSERACING – Victorious Forever horse Lethal Beauty claimed a sensational victory last night in the Listed Prix Occitanie at La Teste De Buch Racecourse in France.
The three-year-old bay filly won the nine-and-a-half furlong race, and claimed close to £22,000 in prize money, for trainers Carlos and Yann Lerner while ridden by jockey Ronan Thomas – continuing the fine results this international horseracing season for the Victorious Forever stable, owned by His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian works and youth affairs representative, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman, and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Lethal Beauty took the win with a length-and-a-half’s gap from runner-up Exceed The Stars, competing for Haras Du Grand Courgeon, Edouard Monfort, and Augustin Madamet; while taking third place in the nine-runner field was City Queen, racing for owners Godolphin, trainer Charlie Appleby, and jockey Alexis Pouchin.
Completing the classification from fourth through ninth, respectively, were Eklleel, Sangomar, Sheeran, La Llosa, Palm Springs, and Life Study.
Meanwhile, Victorious Forever contender Ride The Thunder, trained by Roger Varian and ridden yesterday by Ray Dawson, secured a strong third-place finish yesterday in the Sky Bet Stayers Handicap at York Racecourse in England.
Battling amongst a large 16-horse field over 16-and-a-half furlongs, the four-year-old bay gelding completed the ride three-and-a-half lengths behind winner Small Fry, representing OTI Racing, Joseph Patrick O’Brien, and Dylan Browne McMonagle.
Mountain Road came second for S Fyffe, Jim Goldie, and Lauren Young.
The rest of the race classification from fourth through 16th, respectively, were Westminster Moon, Manxman, Kirchner, Valedictory, Boatswain, Prydwen, Shrimp Shady, Team Player, Kilmeaden, In The Breeze, Fireblade, Duke Of Oxford, and Mordor.
