The Industry and Commerce Ministry announced that updates to the 2026 Harmonised System (HS) Codes will be implemented in the Electronic Industrial Services System, in co-ordination with the relevant authorities and in line with the GCC Unified Customs Tariff, effective September 13.
Industrial establishments may also submit applications to amend tariff codes by adding or deleting items through the electronic system on the ministry’s website.
HS Codes are an internationally standardised system for classifying and categorising goods. They are used in customs procedures to determine the tariff heading under which each product falls when imported or exported, helping determine the applicable customs duties, requirements and related procedures.
The HS uses numerical codes to classify goods according to their nature, components and uses.
