Dubai-based B2B travel representation company Byond Borders has launched an AI-powered cruise concierge for travel agents across the GCC, providing plain-English answers on sailings, itineraries, fleets and cruise-line comparisons outside regular office hours.
The tool uses Byond Borders’ verified inventory from the 13
cruise lines it represents as a Preferred Sales Agent or wholesaler, covering
approximately 3,000 sailings across 22 destinations from July 2026 to December
2027.
The company says the concierge is believed to be the Gulf’s
first cruise tool built on a representation company’s own contracted rates
rather than publicly scraped content.
Byond Borders said the system is designed to address the
volume and fragmentation of cruise information available to travel agents while
avoiding inaccurate or outdated responses.
It answers only from data held and verified by the company
and declines to respond when information is unavailable.
"An agent's problem is not that there is no information
about cruising. It is that there is too much of it, spread across thirteen
portals in three currencies, and none of it is available at eleven o'clock at
night when their client is asking," said Fabian Fernandes, CEO of Byond
Borders.
"We have spent twenty-five years in this trade being
the people who answer the phone. This is the same job, running when the office
is closed. What it will not do is guess — if it does not know, it says so, and
it will never quote a fare, because fares are contracted and that conversation
belongs with a person."
The concierge will not provide prices. Instead, fare
enquiries are converted into structured requests and routed to the Byond
Borders sales desk, with details including the cruise line, travel month and
party size captured.
The company said this approach reflects the contracted nature of trade fares and is intended to reduce the risk of misleading professional users. -TradeArabia News Service
