Fire broke in a flat on the 17th floor of a multi-storey residential tower in Al-Rashidiya, Ajman.
Three people, who inhaled smoke while they were being evacuated from the building, are stable after receiving treatment.
No other casualties were reported.
The entire building was evacuated as a preventive measure to ensure residents' safety.
An inquiry is underway to establish the circumstances of the fire, said Ajman Civil Defence director-general Brigadier Rashid Jasim Mejlad.
