Omani sprinter Ahmed bin Mubarak bin Saleh Al Saadi has been banned for four years for doping.
Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) anti-doping disciplinary committee announced the punitive action, saying the 400m runner tested positive for the banned drug stanozolol during the 11th GCC Games held in Saudi Arabia last April.
Al Saadi will not be allowed to take part in any national, regional and international championships for four years, as of November 8, 2017.
The athlete was also stripped of all the results and medals during his participation in the 11th GCC Games.
"The penalty was imposed on him for violating anti-doping rules pursuant to the Omani Anti-Doping Regulation,” said OOC in a statement reported by the Times of Oman.
