A series of events that aim to raise money for local charities is taking place this month.
They are being organised by Tru Active and will be held from January 17 to 20 as part of its Pop Up store at Words Bookstore Cafe.
Yoga sessions will take place on January 17 at 6pm and January 18 at 9:30am, with all proceeds being donated to a local charity. The opening night will also feature a launch party for Tru Active wear, while local author Laala Kashef Alghata will give a reading of her book Cupid’s Rage on January 19 at 6pm, as well as offering meal prep tips and tricks from her blog Sand Kitchen. Also giving a talk on January 19 is local foodie Mahmood Janahi who will be available for an exclusive meet and greet between 8pm and 10pm.
Events conclude on January 20 with a ‘Mommy and Me’ yoga event at 10am and a talk by YZ Project creator Yousif Zaman from 12.30pm about the essential steps to becoming triathlon fit.
A minimum donation of BD3 per person is required for yoga and while the talks are free to attend donations are welcome.
