The track has been sung as a 'nasheed' by a London-based singer Omar Esa.
Celine Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On' from the soundtrack of the movie 'Titanic' is an iconic track. Thousands of cover versions of the track are out there but this one is special especially during the Holy month of Ramadan. It was recorded by Omar Esa, a London-based artist, who has sung the track as a 'nasheed' and made changes in the lyrics to make the version more Islamic.

Nasheed is a work of vocal music that is either sung acapella or accompanied by percussion instruments. In general, Islamic anasheed do not contain lamellaphone instruments, string instruments, or wind and brass instruments, although digital remastering – either to mimic percussion instruments or create overtones – is permitted. This is because many Muslim scholars state that Islam prohibits the use of musical instruments except for some basic percussion.
Nasheeds are popular throughout the Islamic world. The material and lyrics of a nasheed usually make reference to Islamic beliefs, history, and religion, as well as current events.
Omar Esa is a nasheed artist from England, who uses only his voice in all his nasheeds and recites nasheeds in mainly the English, Urdu and Arabic languages.
Omar Esa was previously an RnB/Pop singer in 2011 but later he switched to recording nasheeds with no instruments. According to his website, Omar is a strong advocate for voice only nasheeds and has coined the phrase ‘Anything music can do, so can the voice’!
His website also adds that within nasheeds Omar has created his own genre called ‘Islam and blues’ (InB) because he says he came from Rhythm and blues (RnB), so now he’s replaced the Rhythm with Islam.
His debut album called ‘Omar Esa’ was released in November 2012.
