The Coastguard seized 361 illegal fishing traps (gargoor) and 16 nets in the past three months, as part of efforts to protect Bahrain’s marine resources. This brings the total number of seized illegal fishing tools to 377.
Officials confirmed that legal measures have been taken against violators. The inspections are part of an intensive campaign aimed at ensuring compliance with fishing laws and regulations, while safeguarding the kingdom’s marine environment and natural resources, the Interior Ministry said.
