Abu Dhabi - the UAE has put the Iranian regime on notice and slammed its blatant interference in the internal affairs of Arab nations.
Addressing the UN General Assembly in New York, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan said, "We could not afford to remain mere spectators when this interference reached Yemen."
Sheikh Abdullah reiterated his country’s firm policy, which rejects extremism and combats of countering terrorism is firm.
"Saudi Arabia is threatened by Iranian missiles through the Houthi militias in Yemen who are intransigent on all peace initiatives in Yemen as evidenced by their absence from the recent talks in Geneva," Sheikh Abdullah said.
He reiterated the need for Iran to stop tampering with the region and interfering in the internal affairs of countries.
"The situation is becoming increasingly dangerous as countries provide media platforms for hate speech," he added.
The foreign minister also called on Iran to restore Emirati rights to three islands currently being occupied by the Iranian regime.
