Conmen are duping people in Bahrain by promising them cash prizes but in return steal their bank account details.
The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) on Tuesday urged its customers to “be aware of a new form of fraud”.
“A number of people in Bahrain have received a fraudulent WhatsApp message informing them that they have won an NBB cash prize and asking them to get in contact with a 'Saeed Ahmad Abdullah',” said a NBB text message sent to customers.
“This is a SCAM.
“This person is not an employee of NBB.”
NBB customers have been urged to call 17214433 for further information.
