Kuwaiti women's shooting team won the gold medal in the trap team competition on Tuesday at the 4th GCC Games, hosted in Doha and running through May 22.
The Kuwaiti team, consisting of shooters Shahad Al-Hawal, Reem Al-Zamanan, and Hajar Malak, secured first place and the gold medal, while the Qatari team came in second and the Bahraini team in third.
Shooter Shahd Al-Hawal and shooter Abdulrahman Al-Faihan also won gold medals in the women's and men's individual trap competitions, respectively.
The Kuwaiti men's shooting team, consisting of Abdulrahman Al-Faihan, Khaled Al-Mudhaf, and Talal Al-Tarqi won the silver medal in the men's team trap competition.
In a statement to KUNA, Kuwait Shooting Federation President Duaij Al-Otaibi congratulated the country's leadership, the Public Authority for Sports (PAS), and everyone who supported the team's participation.
Al-Otaibi praised the shooting team's strong performance, as well as Qatar's hospitality and excellent organisation of the tournament.
The fourth Gulf Games 2026 continue in Doha until May 22, with the participation of approximately 1,400 athletes from the Gulf region competing in handball, table tennis, athletics, padel, fencing, boxing, taekwondo, karate, swimming, billiards, snooker, basketball, shooting, archery, volleyball, equestrian, and bowling
