UK-based Morris Garages (MG) Motors, a leading automotive manufacturer, has launched its new SUV into the Middle East market.
MG which is owned by China’s leading automotive player, SAIC Motor, said the new MG GS, is the only British compact SUV in the middle-class market segment, said a statement from the company.
The new model is a trendy mix that combines sporty elegance with sharp, smooth body lines and swooping flowing shapes, it said.
The vehicle is powered by a 2-litre turbo engine and delivers 220 horse powers. It achieves 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.2 seconds (all-wheel drive version in 8.9 seconds), it added.
The GS comes with an all-wheel drive and four differential locks systems, combined with a platform dedicated specifically for SUV vehicles.
Dr Sun, general manager of SAIC Motor Middle East, said: “The GS is a product of our deep understanding of the customer’s various needs such as power and efficiency, stylish design, and affordability.”
“Customers will notice that our new SUV has 20 to 30 per cent more power in comparison to other competitors in the middle class market,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
