Popular Egyptian songstress Sherine Abdel Wahab and Iraqi singer Waleed Al Shami entertained thousands of people last night in a sold-out concert at Bahrain Bay.
The performance was part of Bahrain’s 14th Spring of Culture 2019 festival, which continues until April 30.
Waleed Al Shami was a last-minute replacement for famed Iraqi singer Majid Al Muhandis, who was scheduled to appear but pulled out last weekend due to an “emergency”. Some reports suggested he was injured in a car accident in Saudi Arabia.
The culture festival is organised by Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca), the Economic Development Board (EDB) and Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research, in collaboration with Al Bareh Art Gallery and La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art.
