Local band Hot Laser is getting ready to release its second single next month following the release of Tick Tock on January 1.
The song, Sinking Ship, is inspired by a scene from the Titanic, according to band member Robert Jennings.
“It is inspired by the scene when the ship is sinking and the musicians turn to each other and say, ‘Gentleman, it’s been a privilege playing with you tonight’,” said Mr Jennings.
“It’s an emotional scene and it stuck with me.”
Despite the relation to such a poignant moment, fans can still expect an up-tempo song in the hard rock genre that Hot Laser has become well-known for.
An exact date for the song’s release is yet to be announced.
However, Mr Jennings said that it is imminently headed to the US for mastering and will be released next month.
Band members Ash Syed, Joe Dalton, Daryl Bustos and Rob Jungle (Robert Jennings) are currently in the process of putting together an album.
“We are releasing one single at a time and once we have recorded 12 songs we will hopefully release the album next year,” added Mr Jennings.
Fans can see Hot Laser perform on February 5 at Coral Bay, for the Bob Marley Tribute show.
