Kuwait: Kuwait's Disabled Sport Club (KDSC) team won fourth gold medal on Saturday while competing in the 2016 IPC Athletics AsiaOceania Championships, which concluded in the Emirati city of Dubai.
Hamad AlAdwani won the gold medal in the 400m wheelchair race, bringing the total record of medals to four gold, four silver, and one bronze, Shafi AlHajri, KDSC's Chairman and head of the Kuwaiti team to the championship, told KUNA.
AlHajri thanked all members of the Kuwaiti team for occupying top positions at the podium at this championship, praising the Kuwaiti athletes' competitive level and high spirit.
This event proved the Kuwaitis' ability to win medals at regional and international arenas, he said, noting that the team will be participating in the Sharjah Athletics Championship on March 14th, and then will take part in FAZAA International Athletics Competition on March 16th.
Over 250 male and female athletes from 30 countries competed in the 2016 IPC Athletics AsiaOceania Championships, held at Dubai Police Officers Club fields in cooperation with International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the Dubai Sports Council.
