Bahrain: Gulf International Bank (GIB) is organising a tree-planting initiative tomorrow to mark World Earth Day.
Families with children and the general public have been urged to take part in the activity being held at the new Sitra Corniche from 9am to 11am.
The drive is being carried out with the support of the Capital Governorate which will provide the trees and help the bank’s volunteers and people with the planting.
GIB registered Bahrain on the global campaign site via www.earthday.org to mark the kingdom’s participation in the international campaign.
This initiative is part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility programme ‘WAGIB’.
Launched last year, the programme is committed to supporting local communities in which the bank operates with a range of sustainable development programmes and local initiatives.
