Kuwait City: Fifty-seven flights were operated by Kuwait last week in a bid to repatriate citizens stranded abroad during the coronavirus pandemic.
The initiative saw domestic airlines Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways work together with the government to arrange special flights from a number of global destinations to return Kuwaitis to the country, Kuwait News Agency reported.
The destinations from where citizens were flown out from include Amman, Beirut, Cairo, Tunis, Istanbul, Manila, London and New York.
A third phase of these evacuations will be carried out in the upcoming days involving 35 flights to destinations such as Hail in Saudi Arabia, Moscow, and Manchester, UK.
