MANAMA: Asry, the Arabian Gulf’s leading maritime repair and fabrication facility, will be able to manufacture and repair pressure vessels that conform to the ASME code.
This follows the announcement that the ASME or the American Society of Mechanical Engineers has accredited the Bahrain-based shipyard’s new construction and engineering department.
Asry attained the accreditation after an extensive review of the company’s quality assurance systems, engineering, warehousing, production, and quality control capabilities.
Based on the review, the yard was found compliant with ASME work due to its commitment to applying the highest international standards in all aspects of work.
A celebration was organised by the company to mark the occasion.
Asry managing director Mazen Matar commented, “Being certified for ASME work will take us to new heights in contributing to the oil and gas and marine industries, in line with our strategy.
“Asry would now be able to manufacture and repair various vessels required for upcoming oil and gas activities in Bahrain and elsewhere in the region,” he added.
The ASME was established in 1880 with the aim of setting standards for the production of boilers, steam boilers, vessels, and pressure vessels.
