Twelve daring individuals are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime in National Geographic’s ‘Race to the Center of the Earth’.
The epic seven-part series airs every Tuesday at 10 am UAE time/9 am KSA time, with a repeat at 9 pm KSA.
Created by award-winning producers and masterminds behind the Amazing Race, Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri, ‘Race to the Center of the Earth’ is an adrenaline-fueled competition that pits four teams of adventurers against one another in a nonstop sprint across the globe.
Competing for a chance to win the US$1 million grand prize, the teams of friends and co-workers are confident that their bond is what will lead them across the finish line.
Each starting from opposing corners of the globe, four teams of three will race to a final location where their routes intersect and the buoy holding the prize is located. Team North America, Team Southeast Asia, Team Russia and Team South America will face untamed jungles, frozen tundras, arid deserts, bustling cities, treacherous mountains and vast oceans to reach the buoy. The first to arrive claims it all.
The production team behind this extreme non-elimination competition spent six months on rigorous prep work and scouting hundreds of locations covering more than 56,000 kilometers around the globe.
Throughout the show, cameras follow the contestants, mirroring their actions as they take on various challenges that test their limits of strength, speed and stamina.
The highly skilled filmmakers capture the teams throughout the race and at every waypoint — around 500 — with state-of-the-art camera technology including BlackMagic URSA Mini Pro G2, allowing ultra-high resolution in a small, handheld package.
