Bahrain is top Arab nation for food wastage
Need a drastic change in lifestyle and teach the children to not waste food. Millions of people in the world are struggling to get at least one meal a day. See the condition of Yemen.

Very shocking to know that Bahrain is on top of the list for food wastage. It clearly shows how ignorant people are. The change should happen from home. Children should be taught in schools about the evil of wasting food. Restaurants should impose fines on customers who waste food. There are millions around the world who survive with one meal a day. Children and infants are dying of malnutrition. How can we be so ignorant of all this happening around us?

Poor administration and management!! Lack of guidelines.

Instead of wasting food, people should keep a fridge outside their homes and keep the excess food in it. It will benefit the poor labourers who will get free food. May Allah reward you.

You have too much money.

Very sad ... many, many people in the world do not get food to eat.

Most Arabs are rich, and it’s not a big deal for them. While there are too many people around the globe who don’t have enough food on their tables. Especially during this pandemic.

Oops! Not good news.

Food is being thrown every minute while others don’t have food.

If this is a true report, then hang your heads in shame. Time to actively organise a system to stop this now and give to the needy.

One is the lifestyle, but the most important factor is food pricing at the restaurants. I believe the government has to look at the pricing of food in all the restaurants across Bahrain and make sure that they are worth the price quoted for the quality and quantity they deliver. The pricing makes it more comfortable for the normal public to purchase the food, which increases consumption and business. In most parts of the Asia Pacific region, food is cheap, fresh and priced reasonably and people are comfortable dining outside.

It is because people here are not teaching their children about the importance of food. Or else they choose to throw it rather than give it to the needy people.

The hotel groups need to make a change! They throw away heaps and heaps of food!! Give the leftovers to staff or give it to the needy!!

This has been the knowledge for quite sometime. When I taught there (Bahrain) in 2016-2017, my Prep students did a presentation around Earth Day and I went straight to the website source and found all of the data. When parents heard this, there was a gasp. The sad part is, issues are brought to the forefront with viable solutions, but no one seems to listen. Hmmm.

This Ramadan let people become mindful of this. I hope there will be an initiative to share instead of throwing or wasting the food.
