KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait recorded the highest temperature ever on Earth yesterday in the northern city of Al Jasra at 53.5C.
Kuwait has also now been deemed the hottest place on Earth in 2021, while neighbouring Iraq and Iran recorded temperatures of 51.6C and 51.0C (in the southern city of Omidiyed) respectively.
In June, Kuwait experienced a heatwave which recorded temperatures of 50C. Norwegian weather monitor Time and Date said Kuwait City and Doha are the hottest capitals in the world.
