FOODIES and families alike are sure to relish the two revamped eateries now open at The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa.
With brand new identities, ambience and menus, Mondo: Taste of Italy, an Italian bistro, and Bo.Sabi, an Asian concept were inaugurated recently.
While Mondo spices up its previous name, Bo.Sabi is replacing the Kontiki restaurant.
When unveiling the two brands, the hotel’s parent organisation, National Hotels Company’s chief executive Zaher Al Ajjawi explained the ideology behind them.
“‘Bo’ means abundance and richness in Chinese, whilst ‘Sabi’, in Japanese, refers to beauty stemming from age,” he noted.
“The rebranding is a play on Asian words reflecting the cuisine, and ‘Bo.Sabi’ reflects the restaurant’s beauty and architecture, while also paying homage to its metamorphosis from ‘Kontiki’, creating a new force of beauty.”
With Oriental influences from across Asia, Bo.Sabi’s menu features maki, nigiri and sashimi for the sushi lovers, in addition to Thai curries, Indonesian nasi goreng, Chinese mapo tofu, Korean seafood bokkeumbap and much more.
The restaurant, headed by Chef Mohan Gurung, is right by the hotel’s outdoor pool, making it ideal for a night out filled with fragrant flavours.
The Italian eatery Mondo: Taste of Italy focuses on shareable food, ideal for families, according to Chef Raffaele Caggegi.
“The new menu at Mondo has Italian dishes that will make you drool – appetisers, pastas, pizzas, oven dishes and desserts,” added Mr Al Ajjawi.
“I love them all, but the pizza has to be my favourite.”
The pizza – the cornerstone of the new eatery – is made with Caputo flour, Mutti Pomodoro tomatoes and exquisite fior di latte mozzarella cheese, all flown from Italy to make the best pizzas in town.
The two restaurants are overseen by executive chef Younis Ramadhan.
