King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence chairman Dr Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa received a delegation from Israeli universities and academic institutions.
Shaikh Khalid affirmed Bahrain as a cultural and religious hub, noting His Majesty King Hamad’s care for education as a cornerstone to fight ignorance and hatred.
He noted that the Declaration of Bahrain is considered an international reference to spread the Bahraini model for peaceful coexistence.
This Is Bahrain chairperson Betsy Mathieson reviewed Bahrain’s process in implementing the principle of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
She affirmed that the educational programmes launched by the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence through The King Hamad Chair for Interfaith Dialogue at Sapienza University in Italy and King Hamad Faith in Leadership fellowship programme in Oxford, translate the royal vision to prepare the youth as peace ambassadors in the world.
The delegation expressed their admiration for the humanitarian ideals presented by Bahrain that consolidate the principles of peace, coexistence and love.
They expressed their pride in the close ties within the Bahraini society, praising the government’s support of education and its efforts in promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
They discussed ways to enhance educational co-operation, exchange of visits and expertise.
