NEW degree programmes and scholarship opportunities were announced by University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) during an open day at Al Areen Palace and Spa.
The university also announced that registration is open for the upcoming academic year 2022-2023.
New students qualify for scholarships covering up to 50 per cent of tuition fees, depending on their cumulative grades, workplace recommendations, disability and other factors.
The bachelors of science programmes introduced in the new academic year are environmental engineering and accounting and finance.
Three other new bachelor’s programmes in information technology are applications development, networking and cybersecurity, and data analytics and artificial intelligence will also be introduced.
An International Foundation Year programme is also being offered in the upcoming year, as it guarantees students direct entry to British and international universities.
Existing UTB programmes include bachelor’s of science in informatics engineering, mechatronics engineering, computer science, business informatics, and international business, as well as a master of business administration.
The event was held under the patronage of Higher Education Council secretary general Dr Shaikha Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa.
