Rocket Rodney, owned by Victorious Racing team, won the Coral Dragon Stakes 1,000 metres race (Listed, Class 1) which took place at the Sandown Park racecourse, Britain.
The horse produced a stunning performance to storm to victory two and a half lengths clear of Cuban Mistress.
His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the victory and confirmed the result underlines the successful journey of the Victorious Racing team in Europe.
He added that winning the Coral Dragon Stakes race will be a great motivator to accomplish further successes abroad.
Shaikh Nasser expressed thanks and appreciation to trainer George Scott for preparing Rocket Rodney for the race. He also praised the high qualities of jockey Daniel Muscutt which led to the win.
The horse’s victory came in the wake of a second-place finish at the Royal Ascot race last month. Trainer Scott said: “He is a horse that has shown plenty at home from day one.
“We went to Royal Ascot thinking we had a chance of running a big race. To go and bump into Aiden’s horse (Little Big Bear) was obviously frustrating but he got beaten by the better horse on the day.”
