The National Centre of Meteorology(NCM) in the UAE issued warnings in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, part of Dubai and Sharjah about strong winds picking up dust in the air.
With visibility reduced to less than 1,000 metres, the Abu Dhabi Police warned drivers to be careful while on the roads.
The NCM predicted strong winds to blow repeatedly, with speeds reaching up to 40km/h at times.
The NCM statement also stated that these conditions were expected to last all week, with dusty and hazy skies forecasted from Tuesday till Thursday.
The maximum humidity expected is 80 per cent.
