A SET of 27 new policies and 113 initiatives were launched at an event yesterday to take Bahrain into the future.
These were formulated during a series of ‘Future Aspirations’ workshops and presented at the finale at the Isa Cultural Centre in Juffair yesterday.
The new policies and initiatives would be submitted to the Cabinet’s Co-ordination Committee for approval.
The five axis covered by the policies and initiatives are: infrastructure and environment, legislative work, social services, financial and economic work, and government performance and digital transformation.
The workshops are being held under the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The event was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa. Ministers and senior government officials attended.
“We are keen on achieving comprehensive and integrated national development,” said Shaikh Khalid.
“His Majesty King Hamad’s visions and directives are a roadmap for the course of government action to serve the nation and citizens,” he added.
“The Cabinet, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is continuing to implement strategies and programmes aimed at enhancing the contributions of the public sector to the comprehensive development process, by working in the spirit of one team – Team Bahrain – with a love of challenge and a passion for achievement.”
Shaikh Khalid said the premises of all government work are based on serving the citizens, who are the centrepiece of development and its main goal.
“In order to explore the best ways to support and empower the citizens, the government will work to follow up on everything new, adapt to every emergency, and determine the priorities of the next stage in a strategic and integrated manner,” he said.
“Our five axis will see 27 policies and 113 initiatives all referring to the principles of justice, sustainability and competitiveness set by Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 in shaping the features of a bright future.
“The workshops have helped determine the mechanisms and priorities that will shape the future aspirations of government work and it comes from the Prime Minister’s belief in the importance of strengthening the principle of participation in decision-making, and direct contribution to determining the optimal direction.”
Shaikh Khalid praised the efforts of all ministries and government agencies during the ‘Future Aspirations’ workshops, which will contribute to the development of government work and increase its efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.
“We have to reflect on the importance of the continued solidarity of all within the Bahrain team; to continue the achievement march,” he added.
“This enables us to reach the desired development goals that contribute to achieving more development and prosperity for the country and the citizens.”
It is noteworthy that during the last period, five workshops were held with the participation of 57 ministries and government agencies, preceded by five co-ordination meetings.
It reflected the capabilities, energies and competencies of the government apparatus.
