A DOCTOR accused of forging a Covid-19 test result for his wife and another individual will be sentenced on August 30.
Court documents revealed that the doctor falsified the results in November last year in collaboration with an unsuspecting employee at Bahrain International Airport (BIA) Police Directorate.
The accused doctor submitted false Covid-19 test results for his wife and another individual upon their arrival at BIA during a period when testing was mandatory for arriving passengers.
Investigations confirmed that the doctor had presented the test results as official certificates, adding that he had personally conducted the tests as he was a practising physician.
He also provided personal data of the two individuals to another employee who printed the stickers.
However, he placed fabricated samples into the test tubes and examination boxes thereby allowing the two individuals to enter Bahrain without undergoing the actual test.
The GDN previously reported that anyone caught falsifying Covid-19 test certificates could be jailed for up to 10 years.
