The Minister of Tourism, Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, received the President of the Arab Tourism Organization, Dr. Bandar Fahad Al Fhaid.
During the meeting, Ms. Al Sairafi affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain‘s commitment to actively contribute to various initiatives aimed at boosting the rates of intra-Arab tourism and increasing the contribution of this type of tourism to economic, social and cultural development in Arab countries, noting that the Ministry of Tourism puts this matter on its work agenda while participating in various regional and international meetings related to tourism.
Ms. Al Sairafi stressed the importance of investing the current global developments in promoting tourism in the Arab region and diverting the destinations of Arab and foreign tourists towards the Arab region.
Ms. Al Sairafi discussed activating joint cooperation in several topics, including Arab tourism integration, cooperation in the field of tourism marketing, training Arab cadres in the tourism sector, attracting tourism investments to the Arab region, keeping pace with the digital transformation in the tourism industry and promoting tourist sites and destinations in the Arab world.
Ms. Al Sairafi expressed the Ministry of Tourism's readiness to support the projects and initiatives of the Arab Tourism Organization that contribute to revitalizing the various tourism sectors, including business tourism that achieve economic, investment and development benefits.
For his part, the President of the Arab Tourism Organization, Dr. Bandar Fahad Al Fhaid, highlighted the work done by the Ministry of Tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to enhance the Kingdom’s position on the regional and global tourism map, expressing his thanks for the Kingdom’s support for the work of the Arab Tourism Organization and the efforts it is making for advancing the tourism industry in the Arab world as a whole.
Dr. Bandar stressed the willingness of the Arab Tourism Organization to activate its role as one of the joint Arab action organizations that work side by side with Arab ministries and tourism authorities.
