Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister Wael Al Mubarak said teams have been formed from each municipality to streamline electoral campaigning procedures, raise awareness among candidates, obtain licences for electoral tents, and provide the necessary support prior to elections.
The teams will start their actual work immediately after the announcement of the start of the electoral campaign date, he said, adding that a booklet containing instructions and rules regulating the process will be distributed to the candidates.
This came as the minister yesterday visited the Southern Governorate Municipality in Riffa to inspect the voter lists for municipalities with the participation of Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission president and Elections executive director chancellor Nawaf Hamza.
“Displaying the voter lists in the municipalities’ headquarters confirms the role of municipal councils in light of the comprehensive development process,” Chancellor Hamza said.
