A NEW medical clinic to provide health services to inmates at correctional and rehabilitation centres was inaugurated yesterday.
It was launched by Supreme Council of Health (SCH) president Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and Health Minister Dr Jalila Al Sayyed.
The clinic, under the umbrella of Government Hospitals, aims to continue the framework of providing integrated health services and care around-the-clock at the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
The clinic’s health facilities were reviewed by officials during the inauguration in addition to a review of the procedures related to transferring health and treatment services to the clinic for inmates and deportees.
“Government Hospitals will work to provide the best health services in accordance with international standards,” said Government Hospitals chief executive Dr Ahmed Al Ansari.
“This collaboration with the Interior Ministry is a qualitative leap in providing health services in all medical specialities in collaboration with primary health care centres and mental health services.
“The implementation of these steps are aimed at achieving the vision of unifying the joint efforts between the SCH, the ministries of Health and Interior, Government Hospitals and primary health care centres to achieve the desired goals and preserve national gains by providing all means of high-level health care.”
