HIS Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian works and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with Muslim Council of Elders chairman and Al Azhar Grand Imam Dr Shaikh Ahmad Al Tayyeb along with his children – Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser, Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser and Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser – in addition to Youth and Sports Minister Ayman Almoayyed and Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) secretary general Dr Mustafa Al Sayed.
Shaikh Nasser welcomed the Grand Imam, praising the good work and efforts he is exerting in order to strengthen the position of Islam and its values and teachings.
He also stressed the high position of Al Azhar as a scientific and religious beacon that spreads the values of Islam, moderation, tolerance and love globally.
Shaikh Nasser indicated that Bahrain was and still is the land of Islam, tolerance and coexistence among all sects, as the kingdom has become, thanks to the vision of His Majesty, an oasis of peace, stability and tolerance.

During the meeting, Shaikh Nasser and the Grand Imam met with a number of the kingdom’s youth.
Meanwhile, the Grand Imam received at his residence the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) president, Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, along with SCIA members, Al Azhar scholars and the Egyptian Ambassador to Bahrain.
The SCIA president hailed the periodic meeting of the Muslim Council of Elders in Bahrain.
The Grand Iman also met Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi in the presence of University of Bahrain (UoB) president Dr Jawaher Al Mudhahki and academics from the Abdullah bin Khalid College for Islamic Studies and the UoB’s Arab Language and Islamic Studies Department.
