I am sure we’ve all heard of the Saudi national, who goes by the name ‘Abu Wahash’, who travels to Zanzibar every Ramadan to provide iftar and suhoor meals to thousands of people.
This gentleman deserves all the applause because of his courageous humanitarian initiative and we pray to God Almighty to reward him with the best.
There are several such examples, including associations and civil society institutions who set examples that we should all highlight to plant a culture of charitable and humanitarian work.
It is also important to highlight Bahrain Television’s Mina and Feena during Ramadan, which is a successful educational and awareness initiative that touches on the sufferings of the sick and the infirm and those who suffer from some kinds of medical conditions. It discusses ways to assist such people and help them integrate into society with the help of government agencies and the private sector. Hats off to the creators for this very innovative programme.
Then there is the I am for her programme that sheds light on the reactions of people, young and old, when they face a specific situation in their daily lives. This enhances the spirit of loyalty and belonging and proves the authentic nature of the Bahraini people who face the most difficult situations to provide a helping hand.
Such programmes are necessary to cultivate a culture of good work, taste, respect and teamwork in our hearts and I hope these will have a positive effect on people’s values.
Since social media is an integral part of our lives, it must be properly used to broadcast programmes that serve the country.
