A Belgian man faked his death and then showed up at his own funeral in a helicopter as part of an elaborate prank to teach his family 'a lesson' about staying in touch.
45-year-old TikToker David Baertens surprised all of his family who had arrived to attend his 'funeral' when he stepped out from a helicopter.

Baertens took help from one of his daughters who had earlier tweeted about the death of her father.
This helped convince their extended family about his demise.
At the funeral, while extended family and friends were waiting for the funeral service to start, they were instead greeted by a landing helicopter with Baertens appearing out of it along with a film crew saying, "Cheers to you all, welcome to my funeral."
While some were relieved to see Baertens alive, others were less than pleased when they realised that they had been duped.
Baertens explains himself by saying, "What I see in my family often hurts me, I never get invited to anything. Nobody sees me. We all grew apart. I felt unappreciated.”
He continued by saying, “That’s why I wanted to give them a life lesson and show them that you shouldn’t wait until someone is dead to meet up with them.”
