THE EDUCATION Ministry has voiced its ‘surprise’ that a child was dropped off by his mother at a government school this morning, even though all schools were closed for the Prophet’s Birthday.
According to a statement, the parent swiftly left after dropping off her son, even though the school’s gates were shut, leaving the boy stranded.
“The security officer noticed the child standing outside the school, and swiftly informed the administration,” it added.
The child was taken inside the school and cared for until his red-faced mum was contacted to come pick him up and take him home.
In the statement, the ministry urged families, parents and guardians to protect the children under their care.
