His Majesty King Hamad and Jordan’s King Abdullah have called for the need to intensify regional and international efforts to halt military operations and prevent forced displacement of Palestinians in Gaza.
They also affirmed the importance of giving impetus to achieve permanent, just and comprehensive peace, and establish an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the two-state solution.
They asserted that the priority is to protect civilian lives in line with international humanitarian laws and secure urgent corridors for relief and medical aid in the Gaza Strip, stressing the need to prevent the obstruction of the work of international organisations.
His Majesty stressed that ending the siege on the Gaza Strip is crucial to end the deterioration of the humanitarian condition.
His Majesty valued the efforts of the two countries to end the war on Gaza.
The leaders made the statement as they held talks in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Jordan’s Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.
The King welcomed the visit of the Jordanian monarch, affirming the depth of historic Bahraini-Jordanian relations.
He praised the pivotal role of Jordan in defending the interests of the Arab Nation, supporting its fair causes, particularly the Palestinian cause, and mobilising peace efforts in the region.
The leaders reviewed bilateral ties and means to further consolidate co-operation in various domains.
Ongoing regional and international developments, mainly the military escalation in the Gaza Strip, were the topics of discussion.
The two leaders underscored the importance of averting the ramifications of a new violence cycle in the region and working to find a political breakthrough for a just, comprehensive and sustainable peace.
They underlined their keenness on consolidating joint action to achieve peace in the region, based on the approach of the countries on promoting coexistence and regional co-operation.
They affirmed keenness on continuous co-ordination and consultation to achieve mutual interests, serve Arab causes, and preserve regional and international security and stability.
King Abdullah warned of deterioration of the situation in the Gaza Strip, reiterating the importance of finding a political solution for the Palestinian cause to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
The Jordanian monarch expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty for the warm welcome and hospitality, affirming the strength of the historic, solid ties between Bahrain and Jordan.
His Majesty later bid farewell to King Abdullah and Prince Al Hussein.
