HORSERACING – Victorious Forever contender Bidsta raced to an impressive victory yesterday in the British EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes, held at Great Yarmouth Racecourse in Britain.
The two-year-old bay filly won the six-furlong race for trainer George Boughey while being ridden by jockey Billy Loughnane.
The result continued the strong performances this international horseracing season for the Victorious Forever racing yard, owned by His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian works and youth affairs representative, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman, and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Bidsta was in a good position at the front of the eight-horse pack for much of the race’s early stages and held on well midway through.
She maintained her formidable stride until the finish, fending off a late challenge from the rest of the field.
Faith In Florence came home as the runner-up three-quarters of a length behind, competing for owner James and trainer Ed Walker, with jockey Kieran Shoemark in the saddle, while a further two lengths back in third was Hoya Bella, racing for Mrs PI Veenbaas, James Owen, and David Probert.
Completing the classification from fourth through eighth, respectively, were Plastic Dream, Blue Sign, Antoinette, Cuban Promise, and Happy Daisy.
