HORSERACING – Supreme Council for Environment vice-president, Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee deputy chairman, and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports member Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa affirmed that the ongoing development of the kingdom’s equestrian and horseracing sector is made possible by the strong support of His Majesty King Hamad and the continued directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Shaikh Faisal also commended the keen interest and dedication of Prime Minister’s Court Minister and REHC High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as well as his ongoing plans to develop REHC and its races.
Shaikh Faisal made the remarks while attending the Group One Royal Bahrain Irish Champion Stakes, held on Saturday at Leopardstown Racecourse in Ireland as part of Irish Champions Festival.
Shaikh Faisal noted that the continued staging of the Royal Bahrain Irish Champion Stakes reflects the high level of cooperation achieved in the field of horseracing and provides opportunities to exchange expertise and benefit from international best practices, contributing to the development of the sport in Bahrain.
For his part, Prime Minister’s Office research and projects undersecretary, REHC High Committee member, and REHC acting CEO Yusuf Buheji affirmed that the success of the Royal Bahrain Irish Champion Stakes reflects the strong partnership between the REHC and Horse Racing Ireland, as well as the positive outcomes of this collaboration.
He highlighted REHC’s commitment to building on this partnership and expanding the scope of co-operation in the next phase, noting that such affiliations provide valuable opportunities to exchange expertise, gain insight into best practices, and learn from international experiences in organising and managing horseraces.
Buheji added that this contributes to further developing REHC’s operations and enhancing the quality of the races and events it organises.
