The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) unveiled four new reports yesterday, analysing the skills landscape in key Bahraini sectors like healthcare, transport and logistics, retail, and construction and real estate.
The reports offer job seekers and current employees insights into industry trends, highlighting growth areas, in-demand job roles, and career development pathways.
Compiled with data and insights from sector working groups comprising industry leaders, academics, and training centres, the reports provide a comprehensive analysis of each sector’s needs.
“This launch underlines our commitment to supporting Bahraini talent,” said Skills Bahrain managing director Amer Marhoon. “We aim to equip the local workforce and institutions with the information they need to navigate the evolving labour market, boosting local talent’s competitiveness and contributing to the Kingdom’s economic growth.”
An initiative under Tamkeen, Skills Bahrain aims to bridge the skills gap by providing sector-specific data and intelligence to stakeholders. It facilitates the transition from education to employment, aiding career development and fostering a skilled, globally competitive Bahraini workforce.
The reports reveal promising opportunities for Bahrainis across the four sectors, underlining the need to strengthen local talent to fuel economic growth and adaptation to technological advancements. They identify flexible career paths with growth opportunities within each industry.
Furthermore, the reports detail in-demand roles, essential skillsets for each, and the critical need to enhance digital skills and adapt to evolving labour market demands. Tamkeen will leverage these findings to design programmes equipping Bahrainis with sector-specific skills.
The reports also shed light on essential skills for existing workers, informing efforts in education and training to develop a national workforce aligned with global trends and local requirements. All reports are available on Tamkeen’s website (www.tamkeen.bh).
