The Bahrain Chamber, led by chairman Sameer Nass, has formalised a strategic partnership with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
The agreement was signed at the ICC Global Headquarters in Paris during the Fifth France-Arab Countries Economic Summit.
This strategic alliance aims to foster international trade, support small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and facilitate knowledge-sharing and multilateral cooperation among member nations.
Chairman Nass expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting ICC’s global reach and its potential to benefit both organisations and their stakeholders. He emphasised the positive impact this collaboration will have on Bahrain’s private sector.
Bahrain Chamber first vice-chairman Khalid Najibi congratulated both parties and expressed confidence that the agreement will serve as a foundation for high-level cooperation. He highlighted the importance of knowledge exchange and capacity-building initiatives to benefit both business communities.
Board member Basim Al Saei, chairman of the Commercial Disputes Resolution Centre, emphasised the agreement’s potential to enhance expertise exchange and develop best practices in dispute resolution. He affirmed the Chamber’s commitment to promoting arbitration and mediation as effective tools for resolving commercial disputes.
Julian Kassum, ICC deputy secretary general-network, underscored the commitment of both organisations to support ICC Bahrain and unlock economic opportunities for the Bahraini private sector.
The partnership will prioritise strengthening support for small businesses and regional supply chains, driving joint strategic initiatives and activities, and facilitating exchange at leadership, senior management, and operational levels.
The non-binding agreement will be reviewed and renewed after two years. An action plan outlining priority projects for the next 12 months will be established within a month of the agreement’s commencement. Regular meetings will be held to monitor progress and discuss new initiatives.
