His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, yesterday attended a ceremony to distribute housing units to members of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) in Wadi Al Sail and Galali.
The ceremony was held under his patronage as part of the 57th anniversary of the BDF establishment.
HRH Prince Salman highlighted the BDF’s advanced levels of combat readiness, attributing the progress to the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
He noted that the King’s support has strengthened the development and modernisation of the military and defence sectors, ensuring that members of the BDF can efficiently carry out their duties in alignment with the kingdom’s development goals.
He highlighted the BDF’s role, alongside its allies, in enhancing regional security and stability, emphasising that their efforts are widely recognised and appreciated by all.
HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to supporting international efforts aimed at maintaining global security and peace.
He expressed his pride in the BDF and all its members, extending his congratulations on the 57th anniversary.
HRH Prince Salman viewed a model of the housing units in Wadi Al Sail (in its second phase) and congratulated the recipients.
He thanked those overseeing the construction of the housing units, acknowledging their efforts and dedication in achieving this milestone as part of a series of integrated service projects provided by the BDF for its members.
“This accomplishment is part of an integrated system aimed at achieving sustainable development in the kingdom, in line with the directives of His Majesty to continue ensuring a high quality of life for Bahrain’s citizens,” he said.
He acknowledged Team Bahrain’s efforts in providing innovative housing programmes and services, emphasising that their contributions are key to the success of all development and service projects.
HRH Prince Salman praised the efforts of the Housing and Urban Planning Ministry and relevant government agencies, in partnership with the private sector, in advancing government workstreams and enhancing the provision of housing services for citizens.
He stressed the importance of redoubling efforts to achieve the kingdom’s far-reaching housing aspirations.
National Guard Commander General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Staff Commander Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and a number of senior officials attended the ceremony.
