BASKETBALL – Al Ahli defeated Manama 86-56 in the first of the best of three semi-final match of the Zain Bahrain Basketball League at Khalifa Sports City yesterday.
Ahli surged ahead 20-9 in the opening quarter and continued their dominance to take a 19-point lead (40-21) at half-time.
Manama attempted to make a comeback after the interval as they levelled the third quarter 15-15. However, Ahli regained their momentum in the final session to seal a dominant victory.
Earlier, Muharraq claimed a 123-90 victory over Al Najma in the opening match of their semi-final series.
